Registration and Rates

What are the rates for the conference?
Conference registration is complimentary. Conference registration does not include hotel or travel expenses. Please see the Hotel & Travel page for details on hotel rates and travel to the conference.

Who can I contact if I have problems registering online?

How do I change my registration?
To review or adjust your conference schedule, log on to the registration site using your personal confirmation code, which was provided via email after completing your registration. Once you are logged on to the registration site, click on EDIT MY REGISTRATION DETAILS.

I am not sure which sessions to sign up for. Who can provide guidance on appropriate subjects for me to consider?

What if the course I want to take is full?
You can place your name on a waitlist and will receive an email if a class opens up or when a seat is confirmed for you. You may also check for last minute cancellations on site.

Will I be able to change my schedule once I'm on site?
You have a couple of options. You can stop by conference registration for assistance, or use the ExchangeXtra mobile app to update your schedule on the fly. Sessions do fill up, so we recommend creating your agenda when you register for the best selection of offerings. 

I cannot attend the conference; can I buy transcripts from the event?
Due to the nature of the conference and the potential for sensitive discussions to occur, sessions will not be taped or recorded for purchase or distribution.

What is the room rate for the hotel?
The hotel rate is €220.00 per night inclusive of all taxes. Breakfast will be billed at a rate of €29.50 per person per day.
Additional rates may apply for additional guests per room.

How much does parking cost at the hotel?

The daily parking rate is €40.00 per 24 hours.

Can I extend my hotel stay beyond the conference block of Friday 20 April 2018?
Rooms are available at the conference rate for the nights of 18-19 April 2018. Additional nights will be honored upon availability and may be requested in the Special Request field during registration. You will be notified by email within 4 business days of the request. Please note that room nights outside of 18-19 April 2018 may not be available at the group rate.

Can I stay at other hotels?
There are no restrictions, however, participants have found it beneficial to be at the same hotel as the conference and other attendees. We encourage you to stay at our host hotel, the Hotel Okura Amsterdam. Vertex has negotiated a discounted rate in anticipation that most attendees would stay at this hotel.

Is airport transportation provided?
No, but the hotel is easily accessible from Schiphol International Airport which is only 15 minutes away. See below for directions to the hotel, or access directions on the hotel website.

By car:
From all directions, follow Ring Amsterdam (A10). Take exit RAI (S109) and follow direction RAI/Centrum (S109) at the traffic lights. Follow the signs direction Amsterdam-Zuid (S109). Drive straight on (passing the RAI Congress Centre on the left) and follow the right lane, into the Scheldestraat. At the traffic lights, drive straight on and after 500 meters Hotel Okura Amsterdam is on the right hand side.

By public transportation:

  • From Central Station: take metro 51 (to Westwijk), metro 54 (to Gein) or metro 53 (to Kraaienneststation) to the Amstel Station. At the Amstel Station, take tram 12 (to Sloterdijk), stopping-place Scheldestraat. Travelling time: ± 22 minutes.
  • From Station Amsterdam-Zuid: take bus 65 (to KNSM Eiland), stopping-place Scheldestraat. Travelling time: ± 15 minutes.
  • From Amstel Station: take tram 12 (to Sloterdijk), stopping-place Scheldestraat. Travelling time: ± 15 minutes.
  • From Station RAI: a 15 minute walk to Hotel Okura Amsterdam.

Taxi service:
If you are traveling from Schiphol International Airport to Hotel Okura Amsterdam, the hotel recommends TCA, Connexxion, BIOS-groep, Staxi and Schipholtaxi as reliable taxi companies.

Hotel Okura Amsterdam has a special TCA taxi stand at the hotel, where they exclusively work with business class cabs. Hotel Okura Amsterdam uses the same rates as TCA set out by law. For the actual prices, please visit the website: A special voucher is available at reception for €37, valid for a one-way transfer to Schiphol International Airport. The hotel concierge will be delighted to assist you with any questions about the taxi service.
Parking at the hotel:
Hotel Okura Amsterdam has spacious parking facilities. The parking fee is €4 per hour. As a hotel guest you pay €40 per 24 hours.

In reference to the environment and the increase in use of electrical cars, the hotel has 2 electrical power charger points available in the parking garage that are free of charge. A universal power cable can be connected to the wall-mounted power charger. Please find the power supply points that are located on spot #11 and #12 in the hotel parking garage.

Parking in Amsterdam:
P+R (Park and Ride) spots offers visitors to Amsterdam a smart parking solution. P+R spots are parking spots at the edge of town where you can easily switch to public transport. The price for parking in a P+R car park is only €1 or €8 per 24 hours – with a maximum parking time of up to 96 hours (subject to exceptions).

The P+R rates are calculated as follows:

  • Enter on weekdays before 10 am: €8 for the first 24 hours, then €1 for subsequent 24 hour periods
  • Enter on weekdays after 10 am: €1 per 24 hours
  • Enter in the weekend: €1 per 24 hours

Are group airfare discounts offered?
Due to people's desire to use their preferred carrier and the many low internet airfares offered, we have found it most cost effective for our guests to secure their own travel arrangements.

What is the dress code?
The dress code for the conference and activities is business casual. The average high temperature in Amsterdam during the month of April is 12°C/54°F.

I am bringing my family to Amsterdam. Can I bring them to the conference functions? Are there activities for my spouse/family?
Please understand the conference events are of a business nature and not suitable for spouses, guests or children.
